About The Position

An ENR Top 400 Contractor, ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, and BD+C Top 150 Contractor with nine offices, Rycon specializes in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. Rycon’s portfolio includes projects in healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, food service/dining, retail, financial, self-storage, governmental, and LEED facilities. We have an in-house Architectural Woodwork & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager at our Fort Myers office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) + years’ experience in managing commercial projects valued at $25 million and up.
  • Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable public speaking ability.
  • Understanding of contracts and risk management.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in excess of $35 million.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update the master project schedule monthly in collaboration with the Superintendent
  • Conduct constructability reviews and collaborate with Estimators on alternate construction means and methods, site logistics, general requirements, hoisting systems, and staffing requirements.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings with Owner/Architect, monitoring document design and development, establishing goals and milestones, and overseeing project development within budget and schedule.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Assign project team responsibilities, establish administrative procedures, develop performance goals, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Develop effective communication mechanisms and conflict resolution strategies among project participants.
  • Support in recruiting, training, and mentoring new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company processes and technology utilization.
  • Manage accounting functions and budget, prepare schedule of values, implement billing process, expedite Owner payments, and establish positive cash flow.
  • Prepare and submit owner Change Order Requests, review Owner Change Orders, and update Job Cost Budget.
  • Submit accurate monthly Project Status Reports, identify and manage risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation and capture strategies.
  • Regularly monitor construction progress, hold status meetings with subcontractors.
  • Manage Subcontractor performance, provide notices, and take corrective actions for any issues.
  • Prepare detailed Project Information/Close-Out Forms and Photography for the Marketing Database.
