About The Position

The Senior Project Manager provides strategic leadership and direction for the successful delivery of mining study projects, ensuring alignment with Worley’s policies, client expectations, and contractual commitments. This role manages all phases of project execution—from early conceptual studies to detailed feasibility—while ensuring technical excellence, safety, and financial performance. With deep knowledge of mining project delivery, the Senior Project Manager drives study quality, fosters strong client relationships, and builds high-performing multidisciplinary teams. This role plays a key part in advancing Worley’s Mining, Minerals & Metals (MMM) business by delivering value-driven solutions and enhancing early-phase project development capabilities. To lead complex and high-impact projects that support client and business objectives across the mining, minerals, and metals sectors. The Senior Project Manager oversees small to medium projects—or components of large and mega projects—with moderate to high risk, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, technical standards, and stakeholder expectations. The role also contributes to business development through proposal management and strategic pursuits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the mining, minerals, and metals industry OR similar industry experience, including at least 12 years in project management, supervisory, or technical leadership roles overseeing multidisciplinary engineering or study projects.
  • Strong background in mining projects—preferably across base metals, precious metals, and energy transition metals.
  • Proven experience in Front-End Studies & Advisory, Concept/Select, Consulting, PFS, FS, and NI 43-101 or SK-1300 reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with workshare and engineering, procurement (EP) project environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or professional certification in project management or engineering.
  • Professional registration (PE, P.Eng, CPEng, or equivalent).
  • Certification from recognized project management bodies (PMI, APM, IPMA, or AIPM).
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Mining regulatory or MSHA certification and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage project scope, objectives, schedule, productivity, and budget.
  • Oversee the execution of studies and projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate multidiscipline teams and resources to achieve project goals efficiently.
  • Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all project activities.
  • Lead by example in applying Safety by Design, Constructability, and Maintainability principles.
  • Ensure all team members comply with Worley and client HSE standards.
  • Provide technical direction across engineering, procurement, and project delivery functions.
  • Review and validate study deliverables for technical accuracy and quality.
  • Drive innovation and best practices to improve project performance and outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Monitor project financials, track performance, and report on progress and variances.
  • Contribute to proposal development, estimating, and business case reviews.
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Track performance against milestones, KPIs, and deliverables.
  • Implement corrective and recovery actions as required.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary interface for project communications, progress updates, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure client KPIs and objectives are understood, monitored, and achieved.
  • Identify and assess project risks early in the lifecycle.
  • Maintain a current risk register and develop mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to add value or enhance project delivery.
