About The Position

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading project management teams to deliver exceptional results. This position has strong accountability for the overall success of Singer Ashland projects including safety, scheduling, profitability, relationships, and market reputation. This is an advanced leadership position who supervises the entire project team to include project engineers, project coordinators, and project managers. This position engages in business development and ensures that the Singer Ashland pipeline remains full with current and new customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A degree in engineering, construction management, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of related leadership experience in the construction/food service industry managing large/complex projects.
  • Knowledge of basic business principles to manage project timelines.
  • Must be strategic, forward thinking, and have a strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple resources and coordinate people and schedules
  • Strong time and people management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be pro-active and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities.
  • OSHA-30 certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background and motor vehicle record check

Responsibilities

  • Expert user with QuickBase, Inventory Management, BlueBeam & AutoQuotes
  • Assist and work directly with the projects team to ensure the team’s success in all phases of active projects. This will include site visits, utility inspections, field measurements, office releases, RFI’s and anything else required to ensure that each team member is properly trained for future success and advancement.
  • Coordination and communication with GC, Trade Contractors, and Client as required
  • Review and support project billings
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Identify required resources and assigns personnel and contractors to execute the work.
  • Monitor the progress of all project activities on a regular basis and facilitate regular status meetings with all appropriate parties
  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of project management staff, contractors, and the respective stakeholders.
  • Manage team’s project costs and logistics
  • Manage volume expectations.
  • Manage and communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and internal departments responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Develop and implement project procedures, management tools, standards etc.
  • Attend corporate events, internal meetings, conferences, and provide training as required.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, train, and provide direction and performance feedback to subordinate project team members.
  • Support the Estimating Department in their effort to obtain future work; Attend pre-bid walk throughs, scope reviews, and site inspections as required.
  • Partner with senior management in strategic planning while ensuring business and financial performance goals are met.
  • Utilize effective strategies to ensure successful business performance
  • Create action plans in order to meet department/business objectives, tracks progress, and reports status/variances.
  • Develop plans to acquire new business, conduct sales calls/meetings, and follow-up on sales leads.
