About The Position

Otak is seeking an experienced Transportation Senior Project Manager to join our growing Puget Sound team. This position is based in our Redmond, WA office. You will take charge of building strong client relationships, positioning Otaks services to drive business growth, and managing diverse, multi-disciplinary transportation projects. These projects include municipal roadways; transit infrastructure such as bus rapid transit corridors, train stations, and multimodal hubs; and grading, drainage, and utility systems for both new and existing public clients. The ideal candidate brings established client connections, excellent communication skills, and a passion for collaboration and team leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent education is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, with an emphasis on transportation, public infrastructure, drainage, utilities, and civic projects for municipal clients, including transportation and transit related planning, design, and project delivery.
  • Experience working with transit agencies such as Community Transit, Sound Transit, King County Metro, WSDOT, or similar organizations.
  • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington required or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with various teams throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D (MicroStation experience helpful).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in business development activities including client meetings and preparation of proposals, while developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Oversee design services for roadway, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state, and federal regulations for a variety of public agencies, including transportation and transit related improvements such as transit corridors, bus rapid transit, park-and-ride facilities, municipal roadways, pedestrian and bicycle enhancements, and operational safety upgrades.
  • Oversee preparation of specifications and cost estimates.
  • Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
  • Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team member.
  • Prepare project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide construction support services.
  • Guide and mentor internal team members and support their professional development.
  • Take active role in quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) program.
