About The Position

The Senior Project Manager oversees complex testing, inspection, and certification projects from initiation through completion. This role manages schedules, budgets, resources, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely, compliant, and customer-focused delivery of testing services. The Senior Project Manager also mentors Project Managers and develops best practices, and acts as a key liaison between clients, engineering, and laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in engineering or a scientific field
  • 5+ years project management experience in the building construction industry, preferably in testing, inspection, certification, or product evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, testing standards, and accreditation requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of complex testing and certification projects.
  • Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources—including laboratory staff, engineers, and external vendors—to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients on project progress, issues, and deliverables.
  • Provide clear, proactive updates to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve conflicts, changes, and technical challenges quickly while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to project managers and coordinators to elevate project management capability across the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and project management tools/templates.
  • Model best practices in communication, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Monitor and report on project performance metrics, budgets, and schedules; take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to ICC-ES quality systems, accreditation requirements (ISO/IEC 17025 and 17065), and safety policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and client experience.
  • Collaborate with business development, engineering, and lab leadership to scope new projects, forecast resource needs, and identify process improvements.
  • Represent ICC-ES at client meetings, industry conferences, and standards committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special assignments as assigned.
