The position requires a level of technical expertise to successfully deliver large complex programs and projects, both rehabilitation and new construction. Project scope may include highway, bridge, advanced mobility, and facilities, among others. The successful candidate will eventually be placed as project manager of highway/bridge project or program, consisting of a number of projects as described above under a single contract.

  • Act as the company's main point of contact for design coordination and construction administration with the client.
  • Lead the design team in the development of project documents by providing overall direction to the team.
  • Coordinate with external project stakeholders, internal team members and subcontractors.
  • Responsible for design deliverables for design-bid-build projects, design-build RFPs documents, engineering studies, feasibility reports and other engineering requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, completed on time, within budget and in accordance with agreed upon scope.
  • Provide effective project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to Jacobs and the client.
  • Responsible for construction phase services as required by the scope of work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the client for assigned projects.
  • Ensure project deliverables are compliant with the Scope of Work and all project requirements.
  • Manage and enhance project quality by providing ideas and guidance to the team.
  • Assess project requirements and develop and implement a sound project management approach.
  • Responsible for initial development of the project fee proposal and coordination with discipline directors and design leads.
  • Facilitate the creation of communication plans and conduct status review meetings among project team members and clients.
  • Determine, monitor and review internal costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for project teams.
  • Plan, organize and staff key design positions for the project.
  • Mentor and train team members in project management methods, procedures and activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Substantial experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer with highway/bridge projects including all phases of design and construction administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of design and construction, building systems/components and technology, highway/bridge design criteria, Federal Design Criteria, contract management, project delivery methods, team-building and client relationship building.
  • Professional Registration (P.E.) is preferred, PMI Certification will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in highway/bridge projects.
  • Demonstrated design and project management experience with PennDOT, DelDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, and City of Philadelphia is preferred.
