Your Opportunity Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Texas buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the Science & Technology sector. Our Houston office is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support our Science & Technology projects. Our clients range from local community colleges to Ivy League/Tier One research universities. We also work in partnership with leading corporate, research and development clients. The successful candidate will be leading an integrated team of architects, lab planners, and engineers to design facilities to specific client needs and goals associated with teaching and research activities in engineering, life science and physical sciences. As part of this role, you will be developing client relationships and mentoring younger staff. Requirements

  • Extensive Science & Technology project experience (both in size and diversity) that will support the ability to win work during proposal response.
  • Multidisciplinary experience in any or all of the following markets: Higher Education and Corporate/Commercial
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building systems with specific knowledge of science and technology building requirements.
  • Proven success in maintaining strong client relationships
  • Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building and managerial skills.
  • Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Principal's in Charge on multiple projects.
  • Can effectively manage large and complex teams
  • Effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Team player with the client, entire project team and contractor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma; Prefer experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUP.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Registered/licensed Architect is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Management with demonstrated experience in Science & Technology projects. Experience in Biotechnology, Health Science or Semiconductor is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience managing $100M+ projects - from beginning to end

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Biotechnology, Health Science or Semiconductor is a plus.
  • Prefer experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUP.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and managing the project plan on multiple, large scope, highly complex projects from the beginning of the project through Closeout.
  • Responsible for managing Science & Technology projects which involve highly technical work and often a large number of specialty consultants.
  • Effectively participates and helps to win work in interviews for potential projects.
  • Maintains consistent and clear communication with the Principal in Charge on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Leads/collaborates with the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
  • Develop and manage project budget, schedule, staffing and overall work plan to meet key targets of financial performance for Stantec.
  • Mentors Assistant Project Managers and motivates project teams.
  • Assures that Stantec's Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented - ISO 9000 compliance.
  • Leads and facilitates project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
  • Works with Operations Manager in determining project staffing needs and recommending personnel.
  • Responsible for client invoicing and effectively manages collections.
