We are seeking a Senior Project Manager/ Planner under the Temporary Professional Staffing Services contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. This project will provide professional staffing services to the Medical and Engineering Department’s capabilities at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (LBVAHCS). Positions will be assigned to specific sections within the department, including Capital Development, Projects & Construction, Business Management, and Maintenance & Operations, and report to the respective Section Supervisor in support of medical center tasks. The position is on-site, 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, based at the LBVAHCS, located at 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822. I’ve never heard of Terrestris. What do you do? So, what will the Senior Project Manager/ Planner at Terrestris do? The Senior Project Manager/ Planner provides client interface and overall leadership of the program covering a wide variety of project types and complexities. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality products and services that are delivered according to the agreed schedule and budget of the applicable task/delivery order. This individual will ensure that projects under the program are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. May be responsible for reviewing projects across the program for consistency with the program objectives. May assist with or advise on development of new programs.

Requirements

  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelors with 10+ years of experience.
  • Must be familiar with Patient Centered Care culture in healthcare.
  • Must have experience working with commercial or hospital systems in master or strategic planning.
  • Must have experience leading and managing teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project charters, mobilization plans, and detailed plans of action and milestones.
  • Prepare reports assessing hospital operations, space utilization, and support functions.
  • Respond to RFIs, communications, and task requests from project managers.
  • Attend planning meetings and contribute to clinical and operational discussions.
  • Analyze master plans and document updated priorities based on current state assessments.
  • Participate in scoping sessions to define future planning requirements and changes.
  • Summarize recommended projects and long-term space planning initiatives.
  • Present strategic recommendations and updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead working groups and identify required subject matter experts for projects.
  • Produce progress updates and visual briefings for varying levels of leadership, including VALB Executive Leadership, Veteran’s Integrated Service Network (VISN), national VA leadership, non-government organizations, and political leadership, ensuring compliance with federal standards.
