We are looking for a collaborative Senior Project Manager/Lead Traffic Engineer to join our Team as part of our multidisciplinary group of transportation planners, traffic/ITS engineers and operations specialists with a wide variety of talent and experience. This role combines operational excellence with client service, requiring a Seller-Doer mindset to build strategic business partnerships and ensure project success from inception to completion. The position emphasizes technical and design management skills, quality assurance, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in Virginia with at least 15 years of experience in the Virginia transportation industry.
  • Strong technical background in planning and delivering traffic/ITS engineering projects.
  • Proven history of leading project delivery teams to meet client expectations.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Proven record in possessing the knowledge, skills and experience to manage, coordinate, oversee multiple projects/tasks in order to meet on-time, on-budget, high quality business objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, and team-oriented work practices.
  • Valid driver's license and able to travel locally for site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team in delivering projects that exceed client expectations while managing the budget and meeting gross margin goals.
  • Identify creative and innovative solutions based on client, project, and site constraints.
  • Drive growth with clients, ensuring overall satisfaction from relationship building through final project delivery.
  • Lead key pursuit activities during project phases, collaborating closely with sales operations.
  • Build relationships with clients through face-to-face meetings and participation in professional events.
  • Coordinate internally with sales, operations, and legal teams for project delivery and contracting.
  • Obtain and distill feedback to influence project strategies.
  • Coordinating project milestones and workload with other project managers and group leads throughout the East-Central Region.
  • Assisting in project pursuits to win work, coordinating with client account management leads.
  • Assisting in business development and proposal efforts.
  • Maintain and/or develop relationships with new and existing clients to determine their needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain quality of products for design projects, estimates and documentation; performs required checks throughout the process.
