You're a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, risk management, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable overseeing concurrent projects in industrial mills and plants, you excel at driving repeat business, ensuring safety/quality excellence, and collaborating across all stakeholders. This role is based in Longview, WA, with travel to various job sites as needed.   What You'll Do As a Senior Project Manager, you'll lead complex industrial construction projects from inception through turnover, overseeing preconstruction, design/virtual construction, fabrication, field installation, startup, and closeout. You'll manage multiple concurrent projects and teams, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and at or below budget while generating consistent profits.   Salary Range: $150,000-$185,000 (DOE) FLSA exempt.   Here's a deeper dive into your responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in full-cycle project management within the industrial sector, with proven expertise leading and successfully delivering industrial mechanical projects in the $10M-$20M range (and larger) in industrial mills/plants (piping, vessels, welding, fabrication, equipment, structural, civil, electrical). Consistent track record of delivering projects profitably (greater than bid margin), on/ahead of schedule, and developing repeat business.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related construction field.
  • Skills: Expert in CPM scheduling (MS Project preferred), budgeting, risk assessment, negotiations, and forecasting.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam (mark-ups, take-offs), and intermediate-advanced Excel.
  • Experience with Project M for bids, jobs, POs, quantities, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, QA/QC, and safety.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, communication (oral/written), and relationship-building abilities.
  • Mindset: Self-starter, proactive, organized, energetic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Comfortable self-generating workflow and building trust with senior management.
  • Requirements: Valid driver's license and clean driving record; willingness to travel between job sites and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Physical Requirements This role requires frequent transitions between office and construction field settings. In the office, you'll sit for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks (typing, mouse use), and communicate by phone. In the field, you'll stand/walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs, kneel/crouch/crawl to inspect tight spaces, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Good vision/hearing are essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and on-site communication. You'll work outdoors in various weather, adhere to site-specific dress codes, and wear required PPE (hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots). Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple project teams to successful outcomes on large-scale industrial projects, including piping and welding/code-compliant scopes.
  • Oversee full project lifecycle: scheduling (CPM expert using MS Project or similar), budgeting, cost control, projections, variance analysis, and risk management.
  • Direct project staff, manage concurrent projects, and ensure consistent application of company control procedures.
  • Plan and manage estimates, schedules, and control systems; account for variances and create accurate cost-at-completion forecasts.
  • Handle contract negotiations, change management, billings, forecasting, and timely collections.
  • Develop strong relationships and repeat business with key client decision-makers.
  • Market and sell JH Kelly industrial services to expand our client base.
  • Maintain proactive, positive relationships with craft personnel, customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams (safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, IT).
  • Mentor, train, and develop Project Managers, Engineers, Interns, and staff.
  • Serve as the "leader in charge" for single large projects when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety and quality protocols with zero unresolved issues.
  • Promote and follow standard company processes and policies.
  • Utilize tools like Project M, KellyNet, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (expert-level Excel) for documentation, take-offs, and reporting.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall success.
