About The Position

Under the direction of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), The Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordination and completion of specified projects and various data management and analysis activities within Graduate Medical Education (GME). Activities will include exporting and collating data from multiple systems, data entry, data analysis and reporting. The Senior Project Manager will oversee all aspects of GME projects, define project scope, milestones and deliverables that support department goals. They will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress of concurrent projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects and is responsible for reporting data from various systems and tracking performance related to graduate medical education priorities and initiatives. Generates reports and dashboards as required, and works to validate and optimize data accuracy. The Senior Project Manager contributes to the development and implementation of departmental and organizational strategies, policies, and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in healthcare field.
  • Knowledge of Graduate Medical Education is preferred.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) from PMI is highly desired.
  • 7+ years of work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years related project management experience.
  • Experience in Six Sigma disciplines preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital administrative, research or clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis and/or abstraction preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management best practices and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with survey tools such as Qualtrics and REDCap.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software such as Stata and SAS.

Responsibilities

  • Extracts key data points from electronic systems for collation, entry, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Analyzes information and creates scorecards or dashboards for accreditation and residency program management.
  • Validates the accuracy of the data collected and performs data audits.
  • Answers questions and troubleshoots issues regarding GME data analysis.
  • Creates templates of frequently requested reports and trains users for quick data retrieval.
  • Works with DIO and GME staff to establish goals and timelines for strategic initiatives.
  • Directs and manages project development from beginning to end.
  • Drives strategic improvement initiatives and manages complex projects across the GME community.
  • Coordinates project schedules and assignments.
  • Communicates project plan information, objectives, and deliverables to the team.
  • Maintains project status, monitors team activities, and escalates issues as needed.
  • Establishes project milestones and monitors progress.
  • Initiates discussions with sponsors and stakeholders for project schedules and risk management.
  • Assesses the impact of change management on schedules and budget.
  • Provides guidance and training to team members.
  • Processes information including correspondence, spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
  • Edits and proofreads reports and evaluates data validity.
  • Provides general administrative support including scheduling meetings and preparing documents.
  • Tracks status of initiatives based on established timelines.
  • Assists with organizing meetings and establishing next steps.
  • Identifies relevant data for performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains data in accordance with regulatory and institutional guidelines.
  • Works towards reducing paperwork and redundancy in data collection.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.
