The City of Boston is committed to advancing trade and supplier diversity within its contracts, and Public Facilities Department (PFD) contracts are a key area for this work moving forward. Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Administration and Finance, the Senior Project Manager for Trade and Supplier Diversity will direct PFD’s efforts to improve equitable practices in PFD’s work. The key areas this person will focus on are: 1) Implementing trade and supplier diversity initiatives within PFD’s procurement processes; 2) Advancing workforce diversity on PFD’s construction projects; and 3) Building internal competencies in supplier/workforce diversity best practices. The position will be a key partner to the City of Boston’s Boston Residents Jobs Policy (BRJP) Office, in assisting PFD projects in meeting BRJP goals. The position will also closely collaborate with the City of Boston’s Office of Supplier Diversity. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who can think strategically, adapt quickly, and rapidly earn credibility and trust with various stakeholders in support of these and other City of Boston initiatives.
