About The Position

The Senior Project Manager, Engineering is a key member of the Metergy Engineering Team. They provide deep technical expertise and leadership to support a centralized technical services function across Metergy’s business units and office locations. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this role is responsible for establishing design standards and best practices, leading cross-functional integration initiatives, evaluating current and emerging metering technologies, mentoring junior team members, and performing energy analyses.

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in combined technical and management engineering roles
  • Experience with data aggregation and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to Toronto

  • Understanding of building energy use, HVAC systems, utility metering, and utility billing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of:
  • Field communication protocols
  • Electrical and mechanical systems in multi-family and commercial buildings (power distribution, DCW/DHW, fan coil/heat pump systems)

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, ensuring successful delivery and stakeholder alignment
  • Mentor and support junior team members to build capability and professional growth
  • Develop and review reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Advise clients and senior leaders, communicating insights and recommendations clearly
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to support project execution
  • Identify and lead process improvements to enhance operational performance
  • Conduct market research and evaluate third-party metering and communication technologies
  • Provide technical training to internal teams and external partners as required
  • Provide technical expertise on communication and AMR (Automated Meter Reading) equipment to improve troubleshooting procedures and operational performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and training materials
  • Review and analyze utility consumption data to support energy allocation strategies and identify performance trends
  • Review electrical and mechanical drawings to support sub-metering system design for multi-use buildings
  • Perform root-cause analysis and lead corrective actions for quality non-conformances
  • Provide technical support to customers and field teams, including remote and on-site installation support
