Senior Project Manager Development
About The Position
In this role, you would directly impact our goal of aggressively growing renewable asset production. In this position, you will lead development projects from beginning to end, overseeing cross-functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will be working with leadership within Development to drive origination and business development efforts that will directly impact NextEra Energy's bottom line. This role will focus on developing renewable projects located in the West Region. Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your projects and updates to Development leadership and providing your input and expertise daily to subject matter experts as a collaborative and dynamic team project leader. You will travel across our sites to gain expertise in the regional energy market, the project, and the local community. You will be able to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. We have the best team in the business and are looking for hardworking, detail-oriented, and intelligent leaders to join our team. This role will be based in Juno Beach, FL and will require the ability to travel ~30%.
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing renewable asset business opportunities
- Experience leading projects that require land acquisition, permitting, zoning, environmental studies, and interconnection evaluations
- Experience with project valuations, commercial agreements, and tax abatements
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Experience with implementing project management principles and process design
- Experience & proficiency with corporate finance principles
- Experience & proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Comfortability in community engagement
- Candidates with prior energy experience, an MBA, or a relevant graduate degree are highly preferred
