Potelco, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support large-scale data center construction projects across the U.S. The Senior Project Manager leads complex electrical and mission-critical data center projects from initial qualification through project closeout. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of project delivery, including estimating support, pre-construction, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, quality, safety, and customer relations. Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in construction, preferably within data centers, mission-critical facilities, electrical infrastructure, or complex MEP environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write business correspondence and present to customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead data center construction projects from qualification through pre-construction, mobilization, execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and logistics strategies to meet aggressive timelines and technical requirements.
  • Oversee installation of electrical, MEP, and mission-critical infrastructure to ensure strict adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and commissioning requirements.
  • Lead daily coordination with Superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and engineering partners to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, job costs, productivity, and financial performance.
  • Review and approve invoices, prepare cost reports, and track budget variances.
  • Identify risks, constraints, and potential field issues; develop and implement recovery plans as needed.
  • Successfully negotiate and process change orders with clients and subcontractors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, end-users, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure alignment on scope, design intent, timelines, and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, financial updates, and project status summaries to senior leadership and project partners.
  • Coordinate procurement strategies, long-lead materials, vendor engagement, and subcontractor resources to support schedule priorities.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific standards.
  • Drive quality, sustainability, and compliance throughout project execution.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, submittals, RFIs, and reports.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performance project team; support employee growth, training, and development.
  • Provide clear direction to staff, administer company policies, and recommend process improvements to enhance project delivery.
