Senior Project Manager - Civil

Sunset Valley Construction, LLCEllington, CT
7d$150,000 - $200,000Hybrid

About The Position

A leadership seat with profit sharing and hybrid flexibility, where your decisions will shape how we scale. About Sunset Valley Construction We're a sitework and underground utilities contractor focused on building and maintaining essential infrastructure. We’re projecting to double in size over the next four years, and this role is a new addition to a three-person leadership team built intentionally ahead of that growth. How You’ll Contribute You’ll help prepare the company for its next phase, taking us from growth-stage contractor to a scalable operation with repeatable systems, margin control, and leadership depth.

Requirements

  • You’ve managed $10M–$25M projects from award through closeout
  • You read plans and specs fluently (civil, structural, architectural, mechanical)
  • You think like an engineer and stay steady when projects get complicated
  • You think in systems, build structure ahead of growth, and you’re comfortable using practical automation or AI where it improves clarity and control
  • You’re looking for responsibility at the company level, not just the project level
  • You’re comfortable operating in a small leadership group where decisions are visible, and accountability is direct
  • You take ownership of financial performance and accountability for results
  • You want the opportunity to build and develop your own team as the company scales

Nice To Haves

  • You have a background specifically in civil construction
  • You’ve got hands-on jobsite experience in commercial construction management

Responsibilities

  • Build the operating structure for controlled growth with scalable systems and clear processes that protect profit and reduce waste
  • Own financial, sequencing, and schedule performance on $10M–$25M in annual revenue from NTP through closeout
  • Strengthen preconstruction and execution handoffs by managing RFIs, submittals, contracts, bonding, insurance, materials, and POs so nothing stalls once crews mobilize
  • Bridge engineering and field operations, so expectations remain clear and workable
  • Serve as one of three core leaders alongside Operations and Estimating/Business Development to build the structure and clarity that prepares us to double in size over the next four years
