About The Position

The Senior Project Manager for AI Capabilities Evaluation (ACE) at RAND's Technology and Security Policy Center will play a pivotal role in analyzing the capabilities of frontier AI systems across various fields. This position is crucial as TASP is at the forefront of assessing the implications of high-consequence, dual-use technologies, such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology, on global competition and security. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the operational planning and execution of the ACE project, ensuring that it aligns with RAND's mission to enhance the competitiveness and security of the United States and its allies. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will manage budgets and timelines, ensuring that the project remains on track and meets its objectives. They will coordinate with TASP directors and project leaders to assist in staffing and budgeting for the ACE project. The position also involves overseeing communications and publications, working closely with project leaders to complete and track products through the quality assurance and publication processes. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will develop and execute events and workshops related to the ACE project, collaborating with RAND facilities and support personnel to ensure successful outcomes. The role requires a strong leader who can navigate complex organizational structures and foster an inclusive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, enabling them to develop diverse teams and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. This position is based in Washington DC, with potential locations in Pittsburgh, PA; Santa Monica, CA; or Boston, MA, and offers a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement within the United States.
