The Project: Mace is seeking a full time Senior Project Manager for Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing projects to work directly with our clients on capital projects. Requirements

  • You will have relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred).
  • You hold project management institute (PMI) certification or program management certification.
  • You have demonstrated capital program leadership experience.
  • Effectively, managed integrated team(s) on large complex and multi-phase Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing capital programs.
  • You have knowledge of laboratory equipment, research and development operations, as well as multiple project delivery methods.
  • You have knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (Design Build and Construction Manager at Risk).

Responsibilities

  • Providing Program Level Leadership as an extension of the client’s senior leadership team to ensure the overall successful completion of the program/s as may be assigned.
  • Establishing key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
  • Managing the specialist design team, construction supervision and cost consultants throughout the project.
  • Implementing an appropriate and effective project management framework.
  • Effectively managing the performance of the program team to execute assigned capital programs and projects, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery on large complex programs and projects.
  • Acting as the key client and consultant interface at all project stages ensuring that client and quality objectives are met, and projects are delivered within safety, quality, time and cost targets.
  • Directing project planning and production of the detailed project plan.
  • Directing and managing the cross-functional project team.
  • Providing strategic advice from project conception stage to achieve overall objectives, development of success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters until completion and handover.
  • Anticipating and implementing strategies to address quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing/implementing/managing the effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout a project.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques using KPI’s to improve project performance.
  • Monitoring and advising upon project finances and procurement of resources.
  • Managing the reporting and the flow of program/project information between the team and the client.
  • Planning, managing and executing the lab equipment relocation project, ensuring a lean and seamless transition from site to site with no impact to critical pipeline projects.
