About The Position

Senior Project Management Specialist – Space Launch Systems Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Management Specialist (Level 4) to join the Space Launch System (SLS) team in New Orleans, LA. Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
• Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• 3+ years of experience working with Project management skills, and ability to drive performance to plan and results
• 3+ years of experience collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources, as well as interpreting data and presenting analysis and recommendations to management

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership
• Experience with NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program
• Experience using Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and processes and methods
• Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers and representatives
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry
• Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives
• Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
• Develops and establishes lead time requirements
• Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry
• Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
• Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion
• Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies
