About The Position

BPGS Construction, LLC ('BPGS') is a full service construction management subsidiary of BPG. The company provides a broad range of integrated pre-construction and construction management services for BPG as well as select third parties. BPGS has completed or is currently involved with over $300 million in capital improvements related projects that include hotels, offices, residential, retail and parking. The Senior Project Engineer position is designed to provide field and project management operations experience in all phases of construction, serving as a pathway towards a career as either a construction project manager or construction superintendent.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented and be accurate in composing and proofing materials.
  • Must have strong communications skills both written and oral.
  • Must have strong leadership and decision making skills.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architectural engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering and/or an equivalent combination of experience and continuing education.
  • 3-5 Years experience in construction management, civil engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field required.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite.
  • New construction project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the buy-out strategy and execution for assigned bid packages.
  • Prepare scopes of work, facilitate the bid process, evaluate submitted bids, conduct scope review meetings with subcontractors, and finalize selection of successful subcontractors.
  • Assist in the evaluation of design documents for completeness, clarity, and constructability.
  • Manage the RFI process for assigned Bid Packages.
  • Manage the submittal process for assigned Bid Packages with a focus on conformance with the design and coordination with other trades.
  • Manage costs associated with assigned Bid Packages with a focus on change negotiations and cost projections.
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in identifying and resolving conflicts on a daily basis.
  • Mentor Project Coordinators assigned to the project team.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
