Position Overview The Project Engineer III is a senior technical expert and project leader responsible for overseeing complex engineering assignments, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring the technical excellence of deliverables. This role plays a key part in client engagement, staff mentorship, project strategy, and business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering design, project management, and client interaction.
  • Proficiency in technical software and tools used in the engineering discipline
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and business acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams across locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of complex engineering projects across disciplines or regions.
  • Oversee full project lifecycles including budgeting, risk mitigation, technical delivery, and quality assurance
  • Prepare, review, and sign off on technical reports, calculations, and design documents.
  • Performs the investigation and analysis of residential, commercial and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal matters.
  • Conducts forensic engineering investigations of buildings and other structures for a wide variety of problems including structural damage, roof damage, moisture intrusion, interior water damage (plumbing and other causes), settlement and other foundation problems, construction defects, general building material failures, and of course, all types of storm related damage.
  • Prepare reports to document the causes of failure and/or damage.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing performance feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, safety, quality, and regulatory expectations
  • Interface directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and senior leadership to ensure project alignment and client satisfaction
  • Identify business opportunities and contribute to strategic project pursuits and proposals
  • Drive innovation, process improvements, and integration across departments or offices.
