Skyline Windows is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business. We are best known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows, window wall systems, and terrace doors. All our products are made to order based on our clients’ project specifications. From landmarks to new construction, high end residential to high volume commercial, we do it all! Position Summary: The Senior Project Engineer plays a critical role in driving the successful execution of complex projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, architects, consultants, and construction managers. This position demands a strong technical background, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage both design and project management tasks effectively. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for drafting designs, managing project timelines, overseeing field measurements, and ensuring the highest standards of quality are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • AutoCAD Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD with a strong ability to manipulate and create detailed drawings.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Strong understanding of architectural plans, blueprints, and construction documentation.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of Structural Engineering and Thermal Calculations to aid in window designs and installation applications.
  • Data Management: Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis, tracking project progress, and managing schedules.
  • Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and tools, particularly related to windows, facades, and metal panel systems.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: A proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to address challenges creatively and efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrates a willingness to take on new challenges and quickly learn new technologies or processes as needed.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design, project management, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in window design, fabrication, and installation is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with metal panel and slab cover systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in 3D drawing software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp, Inventor) is a plus.
  • Experience working with architectural façades and storefronts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Design Drafting: Create and revise technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD software.
  • Architectural Interpretation: Review and interpret architectural details and drawings to inform design decisions and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Project Management: Lead project planning and execution, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and external clients, delivering clear and concise technical information and updates.
  • Field Measurements: Conduct field measurements and verify on-site conditions to ensure design accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized, accurate project documentation, including design revisions, progress reports, and technical specifications.
  • Quality Control: Ensure designs and project outputs meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
