As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead the design and technical execution of private development projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial sites and industrial parks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Six or more years of experience in civil engineering, with an emphasis in private development and land development
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or the ability to obtain one within six months.
  • Be proficient in design software, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Demonstrate understanding of permitting, zoning and land acquisition processes.
  • Speak and write well.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams.
  • Coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GIS and other planning tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee design plans, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Support land development and acquisition processes by evaluating site feasibility, zoning, permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with clients, developers, contractors and municipalities.
  • Mentor and give technical guidance to junior engineers, designers and technicians.
  • Conduct site visits, observe construction and coordinate with field staff.
  • Build client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for new or repeat work.
