About The Position

The successful candidate will be capable of bridging the technical gap between the Project Manager and Engineers. Often functions as assistant project manager with an engineering background. Ascertains that engineering work is done according to plan by helping with design interpretation. Works with multi-discipline project team members to develop technical/functional solutions to strategic project objectives. Solutions are derived from available resources provided internally and/or externally, including policies and procedures. May serve as a proposal manager for small to medium projects.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of project engineering experience, including at least 10 years in supervisory, project management, or technical leadership roles. Experience with workshare environments and engineering (E) or engineering/procurement (EP) project delivery models.
  • Demonstrated ability to support team members and troubleshoot technical or project-related issues. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. Skilled in organizing information from multiple sources in accordance with company standards and policies.
  • Capable of making independent decisions and setting priorities in complex situations, while considering cost and schedule impacts based on established project guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with professional registration in the applicable local jurisdiction.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional engineering licensure in the relevant U.S. state; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from a globally recognized organization such as PMI, IPMA, APM, or AIPM.
  • Experience in EPCM and EPC project delivery, including on-site assignments. Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural and multinational environments.

Responsibilities

  • HSE Management - Ensures compliance with all HSE procedures and that that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants.
  • Scope Management - Clearly defines scope and compliance with requirements of the contract. Effectively manages change control process application, project interfaces, including use of High Value Engineering Centers.
  • Quality Management - Defines the project quality requirements. Ensures the right systems are in place and applied on the project. Develops a project schedule which allows work to be executed in logical sequences. Ensures compliance with Worley policies and procedures.
  • Team Management - Provides clear and focused leadership for the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision. Focuses on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives. Provides mentoring and participates in staff performance evaluations.
  • Communications Management - Ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project staff, the client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.
  • Risk Management - Identifies project risks and opportunities. Monitors closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
  • Design Management - Sets clear objectives for the design team. Ensures design team is aware of and complies with client's Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes. Monitors design activities, inter-discipline data flow and communications.
