About The Position

A well-established, family-owned Design-Build general contractor with over 50 years of success is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support a high-profile public education construction project in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional looking to grow within a collaborative, team-oriented environment while gaining exposure to complex, large-scale projects. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, documentation-heavy position with strong involvement in compliance, reporting, and project controls. The Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting Project Management, Quality Control, and Safety teams, with a strong emphasis on DSA compliance, documentation management, and project coordination. This position is primarily office-based and focuses on ensuring projects meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction (Project Engineer or similar role)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DSA compliance and California public works/K-14 projects strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects ($25M+) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track all DSA documentation, including logs, inspections, and submittals
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of required DSA reports
  • Partner with Inspectors of Record (IOR), design teams, and subcontractors to maintain compliance
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes
  • Maintain and organize project documentation in Procore and related systems
  • Assist with schedule updates, cost tracking, and project reporting
  • Support Quality Control efforts including inspection reports and testing documentation
  • Assist with safety compliance tracking and reporting
  • Help ensure adherence to contract requirements and industry best practices
  • Prepare and distribute detailed meeting minutes with clear action items
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Identify potential risks, scope changes, and project issues and escalate as needed
