About The Position

Acuren Engineering is looking for a Senior Project Engineer for our Grand Rapids, MI location. Responsibilities The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for representing the firm in interactions with clients, contractors, and other project team members. Core responsibilities include managing and designing projects for clients, preparing reports and specifications, and providing a high level of technical competence. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible to: Work with internal team and client stakeholders to manage projects. Perform engineering and design Design civil and mechanical elements of facilities. Specify materials and equipment. Perform calculations for hydraulics and pipe stresses, etc. Interpret and apply requirements. Oversee work being executed in the field by our clients and/or their contractors. Ensure compliance with project requirements. Document project according to client requirements. Assist with engineering field work such as data collection and surveying. Perform studies and analyses and create reports. Participate in business development activities, including trade organizations and events. Maintain detailed time and expense records for billing purposes.

Requirements

  • Engineering experience desirable in natural gas and hydrocarbon liquids pipeline and facilities design, hydraulics, repair, integrity assessments and fitness-for-service evaluations, risk management, operations, and compliance
  • Understanding of applicable codes and regulations such as 49 CFR Parts 190, 192, and 195, ASME B31.4 and B31.8, API 1110, NACE RP 0102, API 1160, ASME B31.8S
  • Self-starter and self-motivator with the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision, assuming the presence of purpose, autonomy, and relationships.
  • Strategic and curious thinker.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly with other people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to comfortably facilitate meetings.
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, with high proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering field – Mechanical preferred
  • E. license, or ability and desire to obtain an E.I.T. certification and P.E. license
  • 10+ years of pipeline engineering experience
  • Field engineering experience desired
