You will serve as the link between internal stakeholders, external contractors, and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Salary $145,000-175,000 Location Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Fully Onsite M-F

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, manufacturing technologies, and the key stages of product manufacturing and packaging.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the manufacturing industry, preferably in Food, Pharmaceutical, or Process sectors, with proven success managing CAPEX projects valued over $1M.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects in a manufacturing environment, including contractor management, scheduling, and budget control.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities; effective at working across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Applicable local standards and technical regulations for documentation preparation, approval, and compliance processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional degrees or certifications in Project Management, Operations Management, Engineering Management, or an MBA with Operations/Project focus are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily engineering operation for food manufacturing facility
  • Improve equipment up-time through implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Retain, Organize, and Manage Engineering documentation and knowledge in company systems.
  • Support Production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies
  • Manage capacity addition, process improvement and / or equipment replacement projects to include project SCOPE
  • Design and implement improvements to enhance yield, reduce waste, increase throughputs, improve cycle times, reduce bottlenecks, and streamline operations while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborates closely with the global engineering project team to develop proposals for improvement initiatives including process, equipment and product improvements with relevant details such as scope of work and timelines.
  • Lead capital projects, performing cost/benefit analyses, developing technical scopes of work, and managing project budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable recommendations for Senior Management and drive the implementation of plant improvements.
  • Ensure all processes adhere to GMPs, SOPs, FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations, and actively support our safety programs.
  • Ensure that manufacturing cost standards are achieved through process optimization and improvement methods
  • Ensure to have the Technical Project Documentation prepared (int. or by 3rd party contractor): collect, compile and share required files of the (sub-)project; participate in safety assessments/reviews, according to local standards, laws, regulation and JDE company procedures (Engineering Management and Contactors Management).
  • Management of orders: raising Purchase Requests, following up on deliveries with the suppliers, receiving and checking invoice discrepancies.
  • Support and develop maintenance projects / activities with good engineering direction.
  • Support the optimization of maintenance programs and practices
  • Continually improve and optimize plant processes through performance testing, monitoring, and data analysis.
  • Supports optimizing automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness by Investigating, and addressing quality issues that maybe have been caused due to equipment malfunction or design limitation and initiates appropriate corrective action.
  • Plan and track sub-project budgets by: Developing and reviewing budget forecasts, including purchase orders required to deliver the agreed scope. Reporting CAPEX spending forecasts and phasing to ensure effective budget control.
