About The Position

As a Senior Project Engineer you’ll have strong design expertise and proven experience in the private development sector. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of land development and acquisition processes, site planning, and infrastructure design for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 6+ years of relevant engineering experience, with emphasis on private development and land development projects.
  • Strong proficiency in design software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D; knowledge of GIS and other planning tools a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of permitting, zoning, and land acquisition processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and technical execution of private development projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial sites, and industrial parks.
  • Prepare and oversee design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, and stormwater management systems.
  • Support land development and acquisition processes by evaluating site feasibility, zoning, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate directly with private clients, developers, contractors, and local municipalities to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Conduct site visits, construction observation, and coordination with field staff as needed.
  • Contribute to business development by building client relationships and identifying opportunities for new or repeat work.
