The opportunity At Hitachi Energy, you’ll help modernize and decarbonize the world’s power systems—making electricity more reliable, resilient, and accessible. As a Project Engineer focused on auxiliary power systems for HVDC converter stations, you’ll own the technical backbone that keeps stations safe, energized, and ready for real-world demand. From auxiliary transformers and MV/LV switchgear to UPS, batteries, diesel generation, cable systems, and grounding/EMC, you’ll shape designs that move from schematics to energized assets with precision. You’ll collaborate across disciplines—civil, mechanical, electrical, controls—and partner closely with customers, suppliers, and construction teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. Every day brings variety: developing specs and sizing calculations, creating single-line diagrams and cable schedules, reviewing vendor data, guiding installation and commissioning, and using structured problem-solving to drive quality improvements.
