As a Senior Project Architect at AECOM you will combine your creativity, technical aptitude and team leadership to design and create unique sustainably responsible functional solutions for clients. Join our office in Murray, UT! Our Buildings + Places practice includes architects, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning (inclusive of landscape design) strategy + workplace consulting, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory and cost and program management. The team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, and construction; creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Within our practice you can expect to work on a wide range of small to large projects in varied market sectors such as Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercial, Aerospace, Higher Education, Industrial and Process, Transportation, Aviation and Federal market sectors.

  • Lead, shape and guide the development of innovative and functional architectural designs.
  • Assist project manager in managing client relationships and team collaboration and communication.
  • Utilize architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) for detailed project plans and drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations across a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles into projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing regular feedback and support to nurture their growth and development.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including other in-house Engineers and external consultants.
  • Address design and technical challenges with creative problem-solving.
  • Present design ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Review drawings and specifications meticulously for accuracy and quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends, adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus a minimum of six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BArch) or Bachelor of Science in Architecture + Master’s degree in Architecture with 10+ years of relevant experience in design.
  • Experience supporting multiple building typologies and markets such as Federal.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Positive can do collaborative spirit with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with Revit and BIM as well as experience in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, InDesign, and software such as Rhino, Enscape, SketchUp.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.
  • Affinity with developing details and experience in construction documents.
  • Ability to work independently or with other senior architects to lead integrated design teams.
  • Ability to be client-facing and lead client discussions and charrettes.
