The Senior Project Architect takes the vision of the design team and leads the production team to create a biddable, buildable, code-compliant set of construction documents.
Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architect.
Monitor and oversee the construction documentation process including reviewing and approving shop drawings.
Analyze building codes, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
Meet with external contacts including clients, contractors, and engineers to identify and resolve problems.
Meet with internal contacts including designers, production staff, project managers and architect of record to clarify design intent and streamline documentation process.
Perform site visits at the construction site to confirm compliance with construction documents.
Review and comment on applications for payment and change order requests.
Perform code analysis and develop code strategies.
Mark up and review shop drawings.
Perform other related duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
15+ or more years of experience in Architecture required.
Registered Architect License required.
NCARB Certification preferred.
AIA membership preferred.
LEED AP BD+C accreditation preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Knowledge of office standards and building codes.
General knowledge of construction.
