About The Position

The Senior Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting both Operations and Finance teams throughout all phases of construction projects. This position ensures accurate financial administration, billing, compliance, and project closeout, acting as a key liaison between project management and accounting functions. The Senior Project Accountant helps drive successful project execution by overseeing the maintenance of up-to-date records, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup and configuration of new projects in CMiC and Procore, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee validation and management of tax-exempt certificates
  • Add or modify cost codes on jobs as requested by project teams.
  • Support Project Managers (PMs) in creating owner billings directly within CMiC, including review, compiling backup documentation, and posting.
  • Monitor AR collections status and overdue billings, communicating with PMs on timing of collection and reporting to management.
  • Assist with preparing AIA change orders and sub change orders as requested by PMs.
  • Move job costs within and between projects.
  • Oversee certified payroll reporting for government-funded projects, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and provide lien releases for PMs as needed.
  • Supervise project closeout activities, including checklist completion, billing reconciliation, and final cost posting.
  • Oversee review and processing of subcontractor pay applications.
  • Manage compliance communication with subcontractors and update within Textura.
  • Authorize ACH payments for subcontractors and joint check payments to subs/suppliers.
  • Supervise collection and filing of subcontractor COIs, maintaining up-to-date compliance status.
  • Track and report on sub-executed contracts, ensuring status is updated in Textura.
  • Assist Controller and PMs with owner project audits as needed.
  • Run reports, pull invoices, and perform other tasks as requested by PMs and PEs.
  • Oversee maintenance of the Jobs and PMs List that includes project name, address, PX, PM, PE and Superintendent assigned to the project.
  • Lead updates to subcontract attachments/forms, insurance checklists, and Textura guidelines
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
