About The Position

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Accountant for our DFW project in Dallas, TX. The Accounting Manager manages the project accounting for a business group and works closely with the Business Group Leaders and Program Managers for that business group. Individual must be well-versed in preparing and analyzing month-end financial reports, including cost reports, P&Ls and Report Cards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field
  • Must have management experience and experience in the construction accounting field

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates high level understanding of all Project Accounting functions and GAAP.
  • Reviews and budgets overhead cost reports for the business group(s).
  • Supervises and manages a team of Project Accountants for the business group(s).
  • Hires, trains and develops staff for the business group(s).
  • Performs internal audits of business group cost reports, which includes periodic travel out to groups’ project sites.
  • Individual has a strong understanding of the Walsh monthly P&L process and ensures timely submittal of project P&Ls and reviews the P&Ls for accuracy.
  • Provides financial information and support for prequals and new project bids for the business group(s).
  • This position requires an in depth monthly analysis of the owner billings and ability to produce owner billings independently, when applicable, for the business group(s).
  • Posts owner billings and ensures accurate Revenue projections on all business group cost reports.
  • Individual has a strong understanding of the company Report Card and WIP for their business group(s).
  • Monitors cash flow and communicates with the project staffs on tracking A/R and when the projects are paid.
  • Works closely with Program Manager and Business Group Leaders on budgeting and managing the financial risks and potentials for all of the business group’s projects.
