About The Position

Do you have a passion for serving older adults and breaking down barriers to food access? The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is seeking a Senior Programs Manager to oversee initiatives that address senior hunger through strategic partnerships, program expansion, and innovative solutions. As the Senior Programs Manager, you’ll design and implement programs that make a real difference in the lives of older Oklahomans. From managing transportation projects to exploring new initiatives, your leadership will ensure seniors receive the assistance they need—today and for the future.

Requirements

  • Earning a bachelor’s degree or gaining at least 4 years of relevant experience in the field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Working in a leadership role for at least 3 years.
  • Managing a diverse workforce.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets organizational standards.
  • Proficiency in common office applications and database software (e.g., Microsoft Office, CRM systems).
  • Ability to learn and adjust to new technologies.
  • Ability to complete a background check, motor vehicle record review, drug screening, and physical assessment as required for the role.
  • Commitment to advancing the mission of ending hunger.

Nice To Haves

  • Working in a nonprofit environment or community-focused organization focused on impact-based program design, community outreach, community resource development, client-oriented services, or a closely related field for at least 5 years.
  • Working in leadership roles within community focused teams for at least 5 years.
  • Proven project management skills, with demonstrated organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Food for Seniors Initiatives:
  • Manage senior transportation project and program partnerships.
  • Partner with municipalities for project design, implementation and sustainability.
  • Assess opportunities for program overlap and increased access.
  • Expand programs and initiatives to address barriers and root causes of senior hunger.
  • Program Management:
  • Conduct outreach to recruit program partners.
  • Review Food for Seniors program materials, agreements, trainings and ensure standards are met.
  • Work on strategic planning and success of program implementation.
  • Monitor program activities, assess program performance and ensure accurate program reports.
  • Maintain federal compliance standards and an excellent relationship with the State.
  • Assist in Food for Seniors grant applications, tracking and reporting.
  • Research and Development:
  • Explore potential programs and initiatives to fill service gaps.
  • Increase scale and impact of senior focused services.
  • Stay up to date on senior hunger research, senior-based organizations and new senior initiatives in the community.
  • Assess internal capacity for new programs and evaluate partner and community readiness.
  • Partner with internal and external collaborators.
  • Leadership Responsibilities
  • Oversees 1-3 staff.
  • Guide, shape, and inspire divisional vision, employee engagement and effective participation in organizational planning and coordination.
  • Work with staff to establish annual program work plans, including goals, priorities, activities and performance metrics to achieve organization targets.
  • Supervise, develop, motivate and evaluate staff.
  • Partner with other Regional Food Bank departments to implement organizational priorities.
  • Participate with executive leadership team in organizational development and strategic planning activities. Ensure that established goals are met or exceeded.
  • Empower and train staff to work effectively and respectfully with the partner network.
