The Senior Programmer Analyst is a technical resource responsible for the configuration, development, and maintenance of a wide range of enterprise applications-including ERP (PeopleSoft, Workday), procurement (Jaggaer), CRM (Slate, Salesforce), and student success applications-serving all business and academic units at the University of Rhode Island. This role focuses on hands-on implementation and support of core technology platforms that enable student success and administrative efficiency across the institution.

  • Analyze, configure, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise applications and systems, including but not limited to PeopleSoft, Workday, Jaggaer, Slate, Salesforce, and student success platforms.
  • Develop technical specifications and system procedures to support university-wide administrative, academic, and student success processes.
  • Implement new modules, features, integrations, and enhancements as required by university business and academic units.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex system issues in collaboration with IT staff and functional users.
  • Maintain and update application documentation, technical procedures, and project plans according to departmental standards.
  • Review technical deliverables and code to ensure quality, security, and compliance with university and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and schedule technical work, manage assigned projects, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  • Assist in evaluating and deploying vendor updates, patches, and application upgrades.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to application users and internal IT staff.
  • Remain current with evolving technologies and best practices relevant to enterprise, ERP, procurement, CRM, and student success applications.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of two years of technical experience with enterprise applications or ERP/CRM/student success systems (such as PeopleSoft, Workday, Jaggaer, Slate, Salesforce, Starfish, or similar), OR, Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of four years of technical experience with enterprise applications or ERP/CRM/student success systems (such as PeopleSoft, Workday, Jaggaer, Slate, Salesforce, Starfish, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience with programming languages/tools such as SQL, Java, SQR, and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage application configurations, technical projects, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or maintaining ERP, CRM, student success, or enterprise business systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical documentation and procedures.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with modern programming and system configuration tools.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle databases and major higher education platforms such as PeopleSoft, Workday, Jaggaer, Slate, Salesforce, and student success applications.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating third-party solutions with ERP, CRM, student success, or other enterprise systems.
  • Hybrid work schedule possible after six months.
