Millennium Space Systems (MSS) is seeking a Senior Program Scheduler (Level 5) to join their team in El Segundo, CA. In this role, the Senior Program Scheduler will work with the program team to develop, baseline, and analyze the program schedule, ensuring appropriate planning and scheduling functionality supports all program activities through all phases. Responsibilities include maintaining program schedules and deliverables, assisting in developing alternatives for plan changes, communicating deviations, and leading planning exercises. The role involves close collaboration with program teams, product development, and program controllers to ensure systems meet requirements, achieve milestones, and stay on time and on budget. This is an onsite role in El Segundo, California, requiring strong communication, organizational skills, the ability to build relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in performing project planning and scheduling within an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (or equivalent tools), with the ability to perform calculations and analyze data in Excel
  • 1+ years of experience with standard project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project and Project Server
  • Experience in a role that required teaming and collaboration skills, and ability to work well with a geographically dispersed cross-functional and matrix team
  • Good Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
  • Experience in a role that required creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, strong collaborative skills, strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance
  • Applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar business process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA)
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical/cost/schedule constraints to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Experience with aerospace environments especially other than traditional, large prime contractors
  • Experience with Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customer communities and their project management practices
  • AACE and / or PMI professional certifications

Responsibilities

  • Independently develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards.
  • Perform studies, analysis (trend, variance, impact), risk assessments to determine impacts, and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives.
  • Creates schedule, reports, metrics, change activity, communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.
  • Works to improve project management processes, business systems, and implement best practices that support project decision makers.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Assists customers to develop performance recovery plan and ensure all project control systems are in place to support ongoing support to stakeholders.
