About The Position

Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. We are dedicated to serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and providing comprehensive emergency and long-term services to help them escape the dangerous streets of Skid Row. Established in 1891, URM is now one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles. The Senior Program Manager will lead Program personnel in fulfilling the values, goals, and objectives of the Union Rescue Mission for the purpose of life transformation; will work closely and collaboratively with the Executive Program Director and assume Director responsibilities in the Executive Program Director’s absence or when assigned by the Director or Senior Leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, required.
  • A minimum of three to five years progressively responsible, related experience working with people experiencing challenging life circumstances.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience working/interfacing with senior executives, low-income individuals, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, organizing, and supervisory/leadership skills.
  • Basic computer skills: able to use word processing, spread sheet and presentation programs.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Executive Program Director, develop, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional ministry-based curriculum.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Program Director, assist in the development of plans to conceptualize and communicate the Mission's broad goals to partnering agencies within the community.
  • Responsible for financial reconciliation(s) including the oversight of Petty Cash, Program Savings, and Submission of Fees to URM (Union Rescue Mission).
  • Oversee Mission Tracker.
  • Work as a liaison with the on-site Operations and Security Leadership Team.
  • Assist in representing the Mission and its interests in community organizations, activities, and projects as assigned by the Executive Program Director or Senior Leadership.
  • Conduct other duties and projects assigned by the Executive Program Director.
  • Commitment to URM (Union Rescue Mission) mission, vision, and core values.
  • Encourage guests in their faith and growth in Jesus Christ.
