If you want to be part of shaping the future of mobility, then read on! We are looking for a Senior Program Manager, Software & Simulation to join our team. The goal of a Software & Simulation Program Manager at Wisk is to ensure that the software development team is executing according to their cost, schedule, and scope. You will be part of the team that is in charge of developing and certifying all of Wisk’s software components. This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days. In this role you will partner with the software leads to develop, certify and deliver products, and focus on ensuring the objectives of our business case are met. We need a Program Manager to own the tracking of the overall delivery of the program, scope management, program financials, as well as supplier selection and management. You will support the software leads in developing a vision and roadmap for the product, and subsequently in planning and delivering technical solutions that support Wisk’s business goals. You will be responsible for bridging organizational gaps between software, systems, and test organizations to ensure operational excellence and "code to flight" efficiency. You will lead the delivery of safety-critical, embedded flight software work packages, ensuring all deliveries meet key certification milestones for the Wisk Gen6 aircraft.

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred) or related field; Master’s degree in Engineering or related field is highly desired.
  • Minimum of 8 years of program management experience in Aerospace, specifically within safety-critical flight software.
  • Mastery of Agile/Scrum methodologies and JIRA task management to drive rapid software development cycles.
  • Deep understanding of complex, highly coupled aircraft systems, avionics, and safety-critical software standards (e.g., DO-178C and DO-160G).
  • Proven ability to lead development teams and manage teams of project managers through rapid growth or organizational transitions.
  • Prior experience working with the FAA or EASA to obtain certification for novel aircraft systems or software platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex technical data and drive data-driven decisions for "code to flight" initiatives.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support customer and project meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Aircraft Development Product Life Cycle from Preliminary Design Review (PDR) to Entry into Service (EIS).
  • Experience with major airplane OR tier 1 OEMs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the voice of the program to share software needs with the IPT, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of software releases, improving turnaround times through strategic process improvements and infrastructure projects.
  • Own the software program financials, including budget planning and resource allocation for a broad engineering organization.
  • Establish comprehensive software program management plans covering release planning, earned value tracking, performance monitoring, and risk/change management.
  • Partner with software leads to develop a product roadmap, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams including Systems Engineering, Quality, Test, and Regulatory agencies.
  • Manage software-specific supplier relationships and lead technical negotiations for high-value contracts.
