Summary of Purpose: The purpose of an Operating Experience (OE) station analyst is to serve as a key resource in identifying and evaluating industry events for their significance and relevance to nuclear safety. The analyst conducts initial reviews of event records—whether tentative, updated, or complete—to determine if they meet INPO reporting criteria. They collaborate with other OE department personnel to ensure consistent interpretation of guidance and may initiate further review if an event appears significant. Additionally, the station analyst maintains regular communication with OE coordinators to stay informed about station events and help detect adverse industry trends. This role is critical in ensuring that lessons learned from past events are effectively integrated into station practices to prevent recurrence. Essential Functions Performs thorough analysis of industry events and performance data Analyzes the details of complex issues and events to add perspective, regarding nuclear safety Analyzes plant data or event reports for trends, common causes, and lessons learned Distills large amounts of data into useful and actionable information Prepares accurate and concise written technical materials Collaborates with other station analysts and technical department peers to screen events and conditions against INPO significant criterial Provides in-office assistance to continuum and peer review field teams and lead OE assessments Continuously monitors OE performance at assigned stations Writes level 1 through 4 IERs and other products developed from data analysis, and presents results to various stakeholders Briefs personnel on analysis results Conducts working meetings for industry personnel Participates in training and interacts with industry groups in support of professional development Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrates mastery in the relevant specialty area, spearheading initiatives, providing mentorship to team members, and championing innovation and strategic enhancements across the organization Advanced communication skills used to drive organization change initiatives and convey complex ideas and project strategies in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams to achieve common goals, while providing mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence Demonstrated ability to strategically allocate resources to manage a portfolio of programs; prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and proactively mitigating program risks to ensure successful outcomes Advanced ability to use research, analysis, and stakeholder feedback to influence and execute program strategies while remaining up to date with industry regulations and compliance standards Advanced proficiency in solving complex and multifaceted problems using data, trend, and problem analysis to inform decision making improvements to the program portfolio Exemplifies exceptional ability to seek out and learn from feedback, coaching, and new experiences.
