BAE Systems' Electronic Systems Sector is seeking a Program Manager for the XM1155 guided Artillery Long-Range Projectile program and derivative efforts. XM1155 is an advanced, cannon-launched projectile under development for defeat of fixed and moving targets in contested environments at twice the range of existing cannon-launched precision guided munitions. The role resides in the Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions (PS) business area. With facilities in Huntsville AL, Hudson, NH, and Cedar Rapids, IA; PS designs and manufactures state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions. The individual selected for this exciting and challenging position will manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute the XM1155 Program. The individual will be responsible for ensuring achievement of financial, schedule, and technical performance objectives. The selected candidate will also assist capture of follow on XM1155 contracts and have the opportunity to participate in the generation of new business for the company. Dependent upon the candidates qualification and performance, additional programs may be added to scope. Critical to alignment with our cultural principles, the individual must also model and demonstrate strong commitment to ethics, safety and security. The ideal candidate is an experienced Program Manager and able to run a $100M+ development effort of a next generation 155mm Artillery precision guidance kit program with a transition to production follow-on expected after a roughly 3-5 year development and testing cycle. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of program management experience and direct experience in leading a program through an engineering, manufacturing, and development (EMD) phase.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years of related experience
  • Track record of success in planning and executing large, complex programs: >$50M in size with elements of hardware, software, and systems engineering development.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed, cross-functional project teams, using strong communication and collaboration skills to successfully manage assigned program(s)
  • Ability to understand and communicate with senior management regarding program performance status (cost/ schedule/ resources/ risk)
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management processes including program planning, risk and opportunity management, earned value management
  • Experience with DoD contract execution, Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contracts and customer relationship management
  • Track record of developing and nurturing a positive, high-performance culture

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree
  • Program Lifecycle Management experience of engineering, manufacturing, and development phases with transition to production phase.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Understanding of BAE Systems portfolio of products/technologies
  • Understanding of the DoD acquisition environment and processes
  • Preferred experience in Hypervelocity Projectile (HVP) family of munitions and their application in gun-launched munitions. More specifically experience in seeker development programs, missile based radar systems, cannon artillery systems, tracking algorithm software development programs and flight test.
  • Preferred experience with US Army Long Range Precision Fires community as well as Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC) and Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (PM-CAS).
  • Capture and/or proposal experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
