About The Position

The Senior Program Manager serves as a key advisor and project leader in the City Manager’s Office providing high-level programmatic, administrative, and policy support to advance City Council priorities and City Manager performance goals. This position oversees the City’s Agenda Office; leads special projects and community engagement initiatives; prepares critical communications; serves as office liaison for ethics issues; and supports executive team as a resource for citywide initiatives. The Senior Program Manager also provides backup to the Chief of Staff for the City’s strategic planning activities and provides supervision for CMO administrative staff.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Agenda’s Office, ensuring timely, accurate development and distribution of City Council agendas and supporting materials
  • Supervise the City Manager’s Office Administrative Team to ensure efficient operation and high-quality service delivery
  • Liaison support to the Mayor and City Council Office staff on administrative matters
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on behalf of the City Manager’s Office and Chief of Staff to inform decision-making and policy recommendations
  • Develop office products for executive leadership, including correspondence, internal and external communication documents, and letters
  • Lead, coordinate, and support special citywide projects as assigned by the City Manager or Chief of Staff, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the City Manager’s Office annual performance goals and the citywide strategic plan
  • Support City Council and City Manager priorities and activities, ensuring effective communication and follow-through
  • Assist in the planning and execution of community engagement strategies and participate in outreach activities to advance City policy and build community trust
  • Serve as City Manager’s Office liaison to Human Resources on ethics programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations
  • Serve as a backup to the Chief of Staff, stepping in to lead and manage City Manager directed engagement activities as needed
  • Provide assistance for the City Manager’s annual performance review process through data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the City Manager or Chief of Staff
