Requirements

  • 12+ years' experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple construction projects of varying contract types and delivery methods.
  • Very experienced in producing detailed fixed price estimates; has the ability to use RS Means or other published unit price books to produce detailed line item estimates.
  • Excellent project documentation and construction management principles.
  • Experience in managing many employees in multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical fields.
  • Demonstrated success in operating within prescribed process and procedural systems.
  • Experience in identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent leadership skills; ability to motivate and guide others to succeed.
  • Ability to clearly communicate strategic corporate directives and to ensure they are executed correctly at all regional locations.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction and engineering means and methods.
  • Possess effective negotiating skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information.
  • Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and manages all facets necessary to complete projects within budget, on time, and deliver quality work.
  • Manages the projects in accordance with contract requirements and Centennial systems and procedures.
  • Responds in a timely manner to all contract agreements, instructions, and inquiries from authorized government personnel.
  • Enforces Quality Control Plan and implements Site Safety, and Health Programs.
  • Attends pre-construction, progress and other project meetings; provides minutes.
  • Manages the development of detailed project scope of work to include AutoCad drawings, renderings, preliminary approximations of types of materials to be used and basic quantity counts.
  • Reviews the proposal scope of work, specifications, and drawings to ensure they clearly define the project requirements and client expectations.
  • Manages the development of project work packages for each definable feature of work and solicitation of detailed proposal information from at least proposals for each work package.
  • Reviews and approves proposal package for submission to client and attends negotiations to support the proposal as submitted.
  • Manages project close-out; to include obtaining required documentation, assisting in pre-final inspections and As-Built drawings.
  • Prepares yearly budgets and revenue forecasts.
  • Manages project general conditions, to include staffing requirements.
  • Manages monthly revenue and margins.
  • Ensures that financial requirements are attained for each project.
  • Reviews and approves monthly project cost reports.
  • Generates and reviews monthly project cost reports to manage project cash flow and over/under billings.
  • Enforces Risk Management practices at all necessary levels.
  • Ensures that customer satisfaction is at its highest levels.
  • Maintains comprehensive understanding of both internal and external customers.
  • Works closely with Business Development to support the identification, pursuit and acquisition of new work and repeat work from clients.
  • Performs independent review of estimates based on technical specifications, scope of work and drawings or sketches.
  • Manages the coordination of subcontractor buyout.
  • Establishes and maintains project start, progress, and completion schedules.
  • Ensures compliance with Centennial's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures.
