About The Position

The Senior Program Execution Lead is a hands-on, outcomes-driven leader responsible for driving critical initiatives from decision to completion. This role exists to ensure that high-priority efforts do not stall due to bureaucracy, coordination failures, or unclear ownership. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual is empowered to cut through organizational friction, align stakeholders, and deliver measurable results on aggressive timelines. Success in this role is defined by execution, not process creation. This position is suited for individuals with a proven record of leading complex, high-stakes initiatives in environments with multiple stakeholders, limited authority, and significant operational constraints.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion
  • Experience operating in large, matrixed organizations (government, military, consulting, or equivalent)
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence without formal authority
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills under ambiguity
  • Ability to balance speed, risk, and stakeholder management
  • Track record of delivering results under time and political pressure

Nice To Haves

  • Retired or former senior military officers (O-5/O-6 or equivalent), especially with operational command or joint experience
  • Top-tier management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) with execution-focused engagements
  • Senior industry leaders with turnaround or transformation experience
  • Federal leaders with demonstrated delivery of complex programs
  • PMP
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
  • Agile / SAFe certification
  • Program Management or Operations certifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as single-point execution owner for assigned priority initiatives
  • Translate leadership intent into clear plans, milestones, and deliverables
  • Drive cross-bureau, cross-agency, and external stakeholder coordination
  • Identify and remove blockers (organizational, procedural, contractual, or political)
  • Hold teams accountable to deadlines, outcomes, and quality standards
  • Escalate issues early with solution-oriented recommendations
  • Rapidly assess underperforming initiatives and implement corrective action
  • Provide concise, decision-ready updates to senior leadership
  • Ensure initiatives conclude with documented outcomes and lessons learned
