About The Position

The Senior Program Associate position is part of the Employment & Economic Assistance (E&EA) department, specifically within the Medical Assistance program. This role involves assisting a wide variety of public assistance programs and performing highly skilled administrative functions under limited supervision. The position requires a heavy phone presence, including initial eligibility reviews of Medical Assistance renewal documents, answering client inquiries, and supporting casework. Requirements

  • High School Diploma AND three years of progressively responsible administrative work experience in an office environment, OR an Associate degree in business administration, human services or related field AND one year of progressively responsible administrative work experience.
  • Proficiency in keyboard skills including typing at least 35 WPM.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills are desirable.
  • High level of skill with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in electronic databases and records management systems.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and clients with limited English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with public assistance programs and perform administrative tasks under limited supervision.
  • Conduct initial eligibility reviews of Medical Assistance renewal documents for completeness.
  • Document identification and upload into electronic data management systems.
  • Answer incoming and initiate outgoing phone calls to advise clients on public assistance case questions.
  • Support Medical Assistance and other public assistance casework.
  • Respond to requests for program or client-specific information.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff.
  • Maintain program supply inventory.
  • Assess applicant needs against available community resources.
  • Process program information and verify data integrity.
