This role is fully remote but needs to be based in Missouri, Iowa, or Nebraska.   • Lead and support forensic investigations into structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects, and building system issues.
  • Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving a variety of structures within residential and commercial properties.
  • Determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects, and building system failures.
  • Prepare reports documenting causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
  • Support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) license in one or more Midwest states, or ability to obtain.
  • 7+ years proven experience in forensic engineering, including building assessments and failure analysis.
  • Proficiency in structural systems and foundation design, including concrete, masonry, wood, and steel is a plus.
  • Familiarity with building codes and construction documentation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the Midwest for site investigations.
  • Capable of accessing multi-story roofs or willing to train.
  • Capable to access crawlspaces and attics.
