About The Position

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Production Test Technician to support new and ongoing production capability in our Cranston, Rhode Island facility. The ideal candidate will bring a broad technical background in electronics, hardware, and software systems testing, and will play a key role in ensuring the performance and reliability of Saab’s undersea products. Responsibilities and development opportunities include: Software, hardware and electronics focused. Discovering, investigating, and solving technical problems related to system hardware, software, and integration. Planning and leading verification and validation (V&V) activities. Developing, documenting, and executing test approaches and procedures for hardware, software, and system level testing. Conducting and supporting system integration in both laboratory and operational environments. Assisting in hardware and software troubleshooting. Generating, tracking, and investigating problem reports, ensuring issues are resolved and verified. Leading technical reviews and status meetings to communicate test progress and findings. Conducting engineering dry runs, formal acceptance testing, and regression testing to verify system functionality. Creating test scenarios, performing data analysis, and preparing test briefings and technical reports. Working in strict accordance with standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards (AS9100/ISO 9001). Collaborating with proposal teams to interpret customer requirements and participating in the proposal process. Interacting with internal and external customers on technical and programmatic issues, providing clear communication and documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, technical/business school training, or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience in testing, troubleshooting, or integrating hardware, software, or electronic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced test and support activities across multiple disciplines (hardware, software, systems).
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Ability to interpret and apply data from assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Skilled in constructing test fixtures and circuits from technical documentation.
  • Ability to assign root cause to routing nonconforming assemblies and may implement corrective action or fix.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or maritime systems testing.
  • Knowledge of system-level verification and validation and formal test documentation practices.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP and engineering documentation tools.
