You will be the Senior Production Test Engineer (Missile Assembly) for the Missile Assembly team. Our team is responsible for developing and implementing automated test equipment (ATE), manufacturing test planning, and electro‑mechanical integration to support Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama. What You Will Be Doing As the Senior Production Test Engineer (Missile Assembly) (ATE) you will be responsible for providing technical support to ensure the successful production of missiles. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Support the development of automated test equipment and manufacturing test planning. Prepare test procedures from engineering and conduct detailed failure analysis. Evaluate electrical test results and develop root‑cause and corrective/preventive actions. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start. Basic Qualifications Degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline at the Bachelor’s level and 3 or more years production test experience or 9 years of related professional experience. Experience reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, specifications and schematics. Experience conducting detailed failure analysis to determine root cause and implement the corrective / preventative actions. Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

  • Knowledge / experience with (1) electronic circuits, (2) automated test software, (3) manufacturing test in a production environment, (4) the ability to interpret engineering requirements, (5) evaluating electrical test results, (6) conducting detailed failure analysis, (7) developing and implementing root cause and corrective / preventative actions and (8) utilizing statistical data analysis for trend analysis.
  • Previous experience working with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment and RF testing methodologies is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with programming languages C, C#, C++, Visual C or Visual Basic, and National Instrument Lab-Windows CVI, Test-Stand and NI Lab-View software.
  • Strong hands-on assembly / disassembly / troubleshooting skills of mechanical, electrical, industrial and/or home equipment and products.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Systems Applications & Products (SAP) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools in a manufacturing environment.
