Within our 600-person Roswell manufacturing facility, we are seeking a Senior Production Supervisor (Whey)  to help us achieve the growth needed to continue moving our organization to even larger levels! The Sr. Supervisor provides guidance and direction to the Whey Department employees through multiple Supervisors. Make informed decisions pertaining to product quality, department safety, and department efficiency across multiple teams that support one specialty in a product line. Monitor all aspects of the assigned specialty product within the Whey Department including product testing, equipment operations, and employee actions. Take accurate product inventories and schedule employees to meet production needs. Builds an effective employee team by engaging, mentoring, and developing direct reports. 

Requirements

• College Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology or related field, or similar work experience in related industry
• 6+ years of experience in food manufacturing environment
• 1+ years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience
• Proficient computer knowledge, with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing computer systems

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and professional development for production supervisors.
• Supervise the daily shift operations of the Department to ensure production standards, quality parameters, safety procedures, and department business plan goals are met.
• Work effectively with the maintenance team to minimize production downtime and ensure preventative maintenance is performed on schedule.
• Responsible for monitoring the total production process including continual monitoring of the total product flow, equipment, process methodology, mechanical repair work orders, on-the-job training of employees, writing and developing standard operating procedures (SOP), product quality, product yields and safety excellence.
• Implements plant safety programs to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
• Ensures work is accomplished in a safe manner and the workplace is free of safety hazards.
• Provides employees with the training, equipment, and tools to be able to safely perform their jobs.
• Leads and demonstrates safe practices.
• Participates in safety investigations and corrective actions
• Monitors department operations and makes recommendations for labor and manufacturing efficiency, cost savings, and quality improvements.
• Monitors the specialty product line’s financial performance to assure that a quality product is provided at the least possible cost.
• May assist in preparing and monitoring the department budget.
