About The Position

The Senior Production Planner is responsible for utilizing production-control related tools, processes, and systems to create a production schedule and establish customer order commitment dates. The role involves monitoring products and materials efficiently to meet schedule commitments, reviewing order due date schedules to determine priorities, and regulating material flow. The planner will conduct production capacity analysis, monitor actual production against the schedule, and escalate any deviations that may impact customer service. Additionally, the position requires communication of material-flow schedules and completion status updates, coordination with material planners and purchasing, and inventory management through production flow control. The planner will also interface with production management to resolve issues related to shipments, shortages, and engineering changes, while performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
  • Technical Certificate from an accredited educational institution in Supply Chain or Business.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing operations field.
  • Good logic and data analysis capability.
  • ERP systems experience (such as Oracle).

Responsibilities

  • Use associated production-control related tools, processes, and systems to populate a production schedule and establish customer order commitment dates.
  • Monitor products and materials in an efficient and effective manner, to meet schedule commitments.
  • Review order due date schedules to determine priorities to regulate and direct material flow.
  • Conduct production capacity analysis and understand bottlenecks.
  • Monitor production actuals vs the production schedule and escalate deviations.
  • Communicate material-flow in-process schedules and completion status updates.
  • Coordinate and submit material requirements/requisitions with material planner and purchasing.
  • Confirm material supply/demand (shortages) before order commitment.
  • Manage inventory through control on production flow.
  • Use good judgement and initiative to ensure production accuracy.
  • Interface with all levels of production management to resolve problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
