About The Position

This position is responsible to assist in controlling expenses; provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements; interpret and enforce company policies; maintain non‑union program; assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations; prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately; solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow‑up; work with department heads to meet production quality yields goals and metrics goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product; inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety; manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors; and oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred
  • 5 plus years of Manufacturing/Production industry
  • 5 plus years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility, pork or beef preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HAACP regulations
  • Standard computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials
  • Leader, problem solver, team player
  • Adaptability to high‑volume work and rapidly changing priorities
  • Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train team members
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Monitor and appraise work performance
  • Reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Lead people by example

  • Some weekend work required
